Misconception #1: Cleaning will wear out your draperies. The soil in your draperies cuts and weakens the fibers every time your draperies move. Cleaning every two to three years will add years to your draperies’ life. Deterioration (shred/fall-apart) of the drapery fabric is mainly caused by sun exposure and excessive dust plus the time in-between cleanings. If you or your family has sever allergies you it may be helpful to clean them every year or less.
Misconception #2: Cleaning will cause draperies to go limp and lose their body. Normally, cleaning solvent will not affect your draperies’ finish or body.
Misconception #3: Taking down and re-hanging draperies is something you can easily do yourself. If you want your draperies to hang correctly, you must put the hooks in the proper places on the pleats. Many people find this is far more difficult than they thought. If you decide to try this yourself, you’ll save money because I offer a lower rate it’s called our “Silver Service" *20% SAVINGS
Misconception #4: As long as I vacuum my drapes, I don’t need to have them cleaned. If you vacuum your drapes regularly, you need to have them cleaned at least every three to four years. If you don’t vacuum regularly, we recommend a thorough cleaning every two to three years.
Misconception #5: Dry cleaning can prevents draperies from shrinking. Nobody can TRUTHFULLY "guarantee" that your draperies will not shrink or deteriorate. Draperies shrink on the average about 2% the first time dry cleaned. A few fabrics shrink even more. Our proven method guards against excessive shrinkage. Likewise, we cannot tell how much any fabric will shrink. We have special equipment and methods that can correct the problems of shrinkage.
Misconception #6: All spots and stains will come out when the draperies are cleaned. Water, food, blood and pet stains, as well as fly specks, are almost always permanent. Attempting to remove these spots or stains, usually results in color damage or a permanent water ring left in most drapery fabric unless the Fabric is wet cleanable.
